Frenship ISD and Aramark are teaming up once again to combat child hunger during the summer months. The fifth annual Tiger Bites Summer Feeding program will provide free meals for all children age 18 or younger across the Lubbock and Wolfforth communities.
Starting May 31 until July 29, children can receive a free lunch each day Monday through Friday at the two designated Tiger Bites feeding locations. All children are welcome, and they do not have to be a Frenship student to receive the meal.
Due to state and federal restrictions, children must be present in order to receive the free lunch and they must eat on site. Families will be able to enjoy games and activies at each Tiger Bites location.

• Duran Park, 26th Street and Kewanee Avenue, Lubbock; 1-1:30 p.m.

On Friday, Dutch Bros Coffee will hold its 16th annual Drink One for Dane day. The drive-thru coffee company will donate a portion of proceeds from all of its more than 550 shops to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), the leading non-profit organization in ALS research, care, advocacy, educational and professional programming.
Dane Boersma founded Dutch Bros with his brother, Travis, in 1992. Dane passed away from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2009. Dutch Bros and the Boersma family started Drink One for Dane as a way to bring awareness to, and support research to find treatments and cures for, the disease.
To date, Dutch Bros has donated more than $10 million to MDA with the support of customers. In addition to raising money at the stand, customers can donate directly to the campaign at https://www.dutchbros.com/drink-one-for-dane.

Plans are underway for the 2022 Fourth on Broadway and vendor applications are being accepted now through May 20.
Last year, Broadway Festivals Inc. brought the annual event back to its original in-person status after going to a virtual TV special/concert format in 2020.
Because each vendor category is limited, vendors are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible.
The Picnic in the Park and evening activities feature a multitude of food vendors, including favorites such as quesadillas, ice cream, street tacos, wraps, funnel cakes, corn dogs, kettle corn, pretzels, shaved ice, corn on the cob and more.
Numerous non-food vendors are welcome to peddle their wares as well, such as T-shirts, hand-crafted décor and home goods, tumblers, jewelry, glow sticks, face painting, cell phones and accessories, and more.

LEVELLAND — The South Plains College Natatorium will offer the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course beginning May 23. The cost of the class is $200.
The course starts May 23 from 2 to 6 p.m.; May 25 from 2 to 6 p.m.; and May 26 from 2 to 6 p.m. Outside class study is required.
If a lifeguard does not have a certificate and he or she is a good swimmer, a certification can be obtained before the first summer session begins.
Participants must be 15 years old and able to continually swim 100 yards, crawl and breast stroke for 100 yards. Students must be able to complete a timed 40-yard swim while carrying a 10-pound brick. Prerequisite swimming skills will be tested at the beginning of class.
Upon successful completion of the course, lifeguards will receive American Red Cross CPRPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications.

Lubbock Christian University is offering a variety of camp experiences this summer, providing opportunities for preschool age children through high school students. Registration is now open for all camps.
Encounter, LCU’s on-campus experience for ninth graders through high school graduates, will run from June 12-18. Aside from nightly entertainment, the camp includes interactive Bible classes, speakers from across the country and powerful worship led by LCU’s own contemporary a cappella group, Best Friends.
Camp Champion is an immersive middle school experience where teens can just be teens and grow in their walk with Jesus. It runs from June 26-July 1 on the LCU campus, and is for sixth to eighth grade students, featuring similar entertainment and engagement with daily speakers as Encounter, all focused on the weeklong theme, “Castaway”.
Pine Springs, an LCU run camp in the mountains of the Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico, is open to middle school and high school students. Each week is different and full of experiences and tremendous spiritual growth opportunities.
